I'm lookin' for a way out, lookin' for a waste of time And I'll try again Everybody is standin' in the garden losing their minds That's my friends Why is it that so many people are afraid of their lives? You've got nobody in your corner, now I'm lookin' for the answer, waitin' for the end of the line You're just waiting on the border, now Guess I must've missed you Don't know what to tell you I can hear the whistle of the morning dove Guess it's not an issue I could not mistake you There is no escaping from the weight of love Why do I feel like I'm living in another life? Easy wind Maybe I'll find my way back to the dollar sign Home again Why is it that so many people are afraid of their lives? You've got nobody in your corner, now I'm lookin' for the answers, waitin' for the end of the line You're just waiting on the border, now Guess I must've missed you Don't know what to tell you I can hear the whistle of the morning dove Guess it's not an issue I could not mistake you There is no escaping from the weight of love I just want to leave now

Recliner 06:49
If I said I think I’m gonna try to get closer now Lose yourself Maybe I’m turning inside out Forget it Get off of my planet I can barely stand it You’re in my way Frankly now I’ve had it I ain't gonna live this way So when I’m going through the motions I don’t believe the words I’ve spoken, can I rewind? I’m ready to go Just a word and I’ll know that you’ve reclined to the back of your mind So if you see me standing there I’m in your mind, so don’t be scared Just drink and you’re fine One blink and you'll find it’s time to recline to the back of your mind Lose yourself I think I’m gonna try to get closer now Lose myself Dippin’ in sonic oceans, now I get it I will not regret it Takin’ to the past, no That ain’t the way But who am I to say That nobody could live that way And when I’m going through the motions I don’t believe the words I’ve spoken, can I rewind? I’m ready to go Just a word and I’ll know that you’ve reclined to the back of your mind So if you see me standing there I’m in your mind, so don’t be scared Just drink and you’re fine One blink and you'll find it’s time to recline to the back of your mind So when I’m going through the motions I don’t believe the words I’ve spoken, can I rewind? I’m ready to go Just a word and I’ll know that you’ve reclined to the back of your mind So if you see me standing there I’m in your mind, so don’t be scared Just drink and you’re fine One blink and you'll find it’s time to recline to the back of your mind

Fantastic! 05:06
I don’t wanna be here But I don’t wanna go back home Everybody’s been there Everybody’s too damn cold Changing of the seasons Has a very wide array Changing of the reasons That you think you wanna stay Tell me would you go there? To another place you’ve been You don’t gotta be scared Everything is harder then Once you’ve kinda been through A little bit of dirt and mud You are gonna see through Every little cloud above Have you ever felt it? Pretty little song to sing Pushin’ through the static I can hear the bells-a-ring Tell me would you go there Go to the heart of sound Maybe I could live there Make a little world around Maybe I could see you Maybe I could see you smile Haven’t had a chance to Haven’t had it for a while But now I’m gonna need you I’mma need you to sing Something that we both do It’s a fantastic thing

Goin’ back to war Goin’ back to hoops So many people Just don’t know what to do And that’s me included It’s the end of the line I don’t know what the truth is I don’t know what is mine It feels like No one’s gonna save you So tonight You just gotta get through And you can do what you want if you do what you can I don't care what you're doing if you do it to pretend If you look where you are, you can see where you've been I don't care what you're doing if you do it to pretend, ah yes Goin’ back downtown Goin’ to another space Lookin’ for the people Lookin’ for the human race Lookin’ for a sound Taken from another place Don’t know what you believe inI believe in the human race It feels right But no one’s gonna save you So tonight You just gotta get through And you can do what you want if you do what you can I don't care what you're doing if you do it to pretend If you look where you are, you can see where you've been I don't care what you're doing if you do it to pretend, ah yes

Second Wind 06:15
Goin' back to the country again City living ain't what it's been And I've got one message to send It feels like a second wind There ain't' that much to say Been pitching to move this way Now I've got bills to pay But it feels like a second wind And it feels like all of this is too right Waiting for the bends But I'm here, right? That could only mean I'm Waiting on a second wind That train is on its' way You know I had to stay These folks ain't bothering me Oh, maybe it's a second wind They don't know who I am Don't think twice, don't give a damn That's the joy of where I am Oh, maybe it's a second wind And it feels like all of this is too right Waiting for the bends But I'm here, right? That could only mean I'm Waiting on a second wind Now I'm back in the country again Feels good living out of the kin What's next I'll know just when It feels like a second wind That wind is following you There ain't nothing that I can do But it feels like I've been proven true It feels like a second wind And it feels like all of this is too right Waiting for the bends But I'm here, right? That could only mean I'm Waiting on a second wind

In My Nature 03:28
I'm just wasting time Looking through pictures of a girl I can't decide If she's looking at me or all these other guys I know I can't relate, but I just need some time I'll be back in my nature And why does everything seem so simple But I just can't find my way Okay Everybody is moving forward But everyday's the same And I'm just spending time Looking through pictures on my old Facebook account When did the time run out And how I’m losing time, I think I'm losing mine and I just need some time I'll be back in my nature And why does everyone seem so basic But I know that's not the truth Everybody's got their issues And I know I got mine too Cuz I'm just spending time Looking through pictures on my old Facebook account When did the time run out And now I’m in my prime, I think I'm losing my mind I just need some time I'll be back in my nature I'm just wasting time Looking through pictures of a girl I can't decide If she's looking at me or all these other guys I know I can't relate, but I just need some time I'll be back in my nature

about

We made the jammiest album possible playing in the same room for the first time since 2020! Crazy to think about! But this is the kind of music you can only make in person. Many of these songs have been kicking around for while- Justin's had "In My Nature" for years, and we tried to stick it on NEW THREADS IS DEAD but it didn't quite work. "Do What Ya Want" I wrote for the album that turned into GONE WILD, "Fantastic!" was written during the NTiD cycle for my would-be solo album, and Justin's had "Say Goodbye to Saigon" since we were working in the Townhouse. "Recliner" and "Second Wind" I wrote in the summer of 2021 after moving into my new place. Justin and I wrote "On The Border" in pieces a few weeks later. This album feels like a greatest hits for us, an excuse to go to any corner of the sonic ocean that we could reach. What started as a bedroom-rock album evolved into a jam-band monster, an uncontrollable beast that's developed a mind and direction of its' own. And when we finished recording, the beast wanted more. We were excited to bring Nick Burchard back into the fold for the cover art, which depicts "Northern Terrace" as a festival in the original piece "The Garden of Udder Delights." And I even dragged Mike Mazzu over to the studio at the last possible moment to shred some mandolin on "Nature." In Free Rock We Trust.
