Got no pockets, head in the sand Brain migration to a magical land I got no pockets I got no pockets Dropped your wallet, there in the sand Dropped your wallet right here in my hand I got your wallet I got your wallet Dropped your pocket, head in the sand Brain migration to a mystical land Dropped your pocket Dropped your pocket Dropped your wallet, there in the sand Dropped your wallet right here in my hand I got your wallet I got your wallet Got no pockets, head in the sand Brain migration to a mystical land I got no pockets I got no pockets Dropped your wallet, there in the sand Dropped your wallet right here in my hand I got your wallet I got your wallet

Playing to an empty room Wouldn’t want another view This is such a lovely groove I don't have another beat All the rhythm’s in my feet Playing something kinda neat Do you have a warning? I don’t need to count it off This is just a feeling, I don’t think I’m overdrawn I never wanted to believe I never wanted to be free Playing in a crowded house Mexican pocket mouse Trying not to cause a rouse I think I need a different bed Or maybe just a different head Do you have a warrant, don’t know what you’re leaning on I don’t have a secret, there is no phenomenon I never wanted to believe I never wanted to be free Feet across the pavement, don’t know if the gun went off Sleepin’ in the basement, everybody’s taking off I never wanted to believe I never wanted to be free

Bongo 02:57
On my way through Mexico I just need a place to go, Bongo And on my way through Mexico I just need to find a boat, oh no But you can’t get to sleep with knocking at your door And you won't care at all if you can't hear it anymore On my way through Tampa Bay Looking for a place to stay, hey hey Okay And on my way through Santa Fe Change my name and find a hideaway Okay But you can’t get to sleep with sirens in your head And you won't care at all if you are sleeping in your bed On my way through the Caribbean I'm just lookin' for a little sun, I'm done Laying low in the Caribbean Nobody knows the things that I have done, I won But there’s a rat in town and you can’t find a name And you won't care at all cuz they're already on their way
4.
Sudafed 07:31
I’ll hide in the streets Cuz they’re out to get me I run and I sneak Through the endless city And there’s a part of my feet That would just surrender But I won’t take defeat I just wanna get home I just wanna get by
I just wanna get free I just wanna get high They found my ‘stache And shaved it for me I wanted to laugh Cuz they still can’t find me I’m at the overpass But I changed my clothes And they won’t take me down But they’ll break my bones I just wanna get home I just wanna get by I just wanna get free I just wanna get high High on sudafed They’re on my tail And getting closer I can smell the pigs Around the corner I’ll keep my gun And get on a plane This could be the one To take down my brain I just wanna get home I just wanna get by I just wanna get free I just wanna get high High on sudafed I just wanna get high
5.
Pogo 08:52
Taking off in Bongo Heading back to the States Think I'm gonna pogo Try to make a great escape On my way to Vegas Looking for a place to hide They're coming up behind me I don't have an alibi Hiding in the game room Casino knows I'm on the run Hiding in the back room Breaking down the front door Exiting through the back Sheriff's waiting out there Guess I'm going to the sack On my way to Texas They're not gonna post my bail I'm not gonna make this I think I'm gonna rot in jail Waiting in a courtroom They're not gonna have me tried This is such a pity I think they're gonna hang me dry

Womble 07:02
Say what you wanna say This is our dream, what do you think? I'm living in Hell cuz you're making me think

about

We started this album with one goal in mind: jams. The first season of Bootleg Series was like a training, breathing new life into New Threads tracks and letting that energy transfer into new songs, like "Bringing Me Down." But we also wrote songs like "Head in the Sand" and "Womble," and that grabbed our attention and pulled so much harder than the other songs. So we naturally scrapped everything except for the dark, moody, jam-heavy tracks, and after scaling down what started as a 97-minute album (I have that mix still) to a mere 51 minutes, I am proud to properly introduce the world (or at least our followers) to Free Rock. We do some concept-album-adjacent things here, with the tracks loosely telling the story of Threadsboro mafia man Rock Anderson on the run. It's weird. It's loony. But I think you'll love it.
