Mirror

about

"Mirror" was written on the same day as "Bringing Me Down," the last day that Justin and I lived in Tennessee. It was the last track we decided to record for an album that we've been working on since 2017, so it only seemed logical that it would be the first single. Also the first studio recording to feature my brother Jackson on the keys!

lyrics

I don't know myself any better
Than I used to, but I used to
And I guess I saw myself a little thinner
But then I saw myself in a mirror
Then I saw myself in a mirror

Oh, you gotta slow your roll
It's not good for you
And if you take it slower than you're used to
Then you'll move to
A new shoe for you
It's helped me, too

Cuz I don't know myself any better
Than I used to, but I used to
And I guess I saw myself a little thinner
But then I saw myself in a mirror
Then I saw myself in a mirror

Oh, what is the meaning of this holy arrest?
And why did you take it so much harder than the rest
That you're not the best?
Is that such a mess?
Forgive and forget

I don't know myself any better
Than I used to, but I used to
And I guess I saw myself a little thinner
But then I saw myself in a mirror
Then I saw myself in a mirror
Then I saw myself in a mirror
Then I saw myself in a mirror
